Getting Ready for Back to School

Here are a few ideas for activities that are fun and prepare your child for that first day back to school!

Design Your Own Backpack

Backpack Decorations are very popular, and offer a wide variety of items to hang from a backpack. Choose from movie-themed toys, bead projects, shrink plastic tags, and more. These decorations reflect a child's interests and are fun!

Bookmarks

Design some bookmarks that reflect your interests! If your software program doesn't have a bookmark option, see if it will show Avery Labels as an option. Design some bookmarks and hand them out to classmates! You can also use rubber stamps to stamp out an image on cardstock paper cut to size. Use markers to color in the image, as color pencils and crayons may smudge your book.

Pencil Toppers

Create unique pencil toppers using Fimo or Sculpey modeling clay. Bake in the oven according to the manufacturer's directions.

Magnetic Locker Ideas

Purchase self-adhesive magnets on a roll or by the sheet. You can find self-adhesive magnet sheets at your local craft store.

Magnetic Calendars

Using a software program, print out a year at a glance and adhere to the magnet sheet.
