Kretschmar Sizzlin' Summer Recipe Contest Official Rules

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR TO WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.

1. CONTEST PERIOD:
The Kretschmar®  Sizzlin’ Summer Recipe Contest (the "Contest") begins at 12:00:01 a.m. (ET) on June 2, 2009 and ends at 11:59:59 p.m. ET on August 15, 2009 ("Contest Period”).

2. ELIGIBILITY:
Contest is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are 18 years or older) on June 2, 2009. Void where prohibited by law. Employees, directors, officers and agents of John Morrell & Co. (“Sponsor”), its subsidiary and affiliated companies, sales representatives, advertising and promotion agencies involved in this Contest; and members of the immediate families (parent, child, sibling and spouse of each) or households of any of the above (collectively, “Sponsor Entities”) are prohibited from entering the Contest.

3. RECIPE GUIDE LINES:
To enter, send in your complete original recipe. Entries must be the original recipe of the entrant. Previously published recipes (such as those appearing in cookbooks, magazines, newspapers, on the Internet or those created or disseminated by other food companies) will be disqualified. Enter in either one of the two categories: Sandwich Recipe – Submit an original sandwich recipe using at least one Kretschmar deli product We’re looking for your favorite sandwich recipe. Experiment with all kinds of sandwiches, from open face to double-deckers. Show us what you’ve got, and enter for a chance to WIN!. The recipe must contain one or more Kretschmar Deli products – any variety. Open Category Recipe: Be creative! This category is open to any original recipe for breakfast, lunch, dinner or appetizers using one or more Kretschmar deli products. All submitted recipes must list all ingredients with their exact quantities in the order they are used, specific directions (in paragraph form), including cookware size (pot, pan, or dish), cooking time and temperature, and number of servings should follow list of ingredients. Incomplete or illegible entries will be disqualified.

4. TWO WAYS TO ENTER:
Mail: Print or type your recipe on a plain piece of 8-1/2" x 11" paper and include your complete name, street address (no P.O. boxes), city, state, zip code, date of birth (mm/dd/yyyy), and day/evening telephone numbers (including area code) or fill out an official entry form to submit with your recipe. Entry forms are available on special displays at your local retailer who sells Kretschmar Deli products. Mail your recipe and completed entry form to: Kretschmar “Sizzlin’ Summer Recipe Contest” PO BOX 14789, Cincinnati, OH 45250. Mailed entries must be postmarked by no later than 8/15/09 and received by 8/22/09.
Online: Beginning at 12:01 a.m. ET on 6/02/09 through 11:59 p.m. ET on 8/15/09, visit www.kretschmardeli.com and follow the onscreen entry instructions to complete the entry process. Entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. ET on 8/15/09. Limit one entry per person/family/household/email address.

5. JUDGING:
All entries will be judged by an independent judging panel whose decisions are final and binding. A total of TEN (10) recipes will be selected on or about 9/15/08 based on the following criteria: 30% overall originality of recipe, 30% ease of preparation, 40% creative use of Kretschmar Deli product. Two (2) Grand prize Winners, one from each category: Sandwich and Open, and Eight (8) First Place winners will be selected. The potential Winners will be notified by mail thereafter. Recipes will be tested as submitted, so please check carefully for accuracy. In the event of a tie, the entry with the highest score for "taste" will be deemed the potential Grand Prize Winners. In the event the scores for "taste" are tied, the tied entries will then be re-judged by an additional independent judging panel appointed by Sponsor, whose decision will be final and binding.

6. PRIZES:
Two (2) Grand Prizes will be awarded. Each Grand Prize Winner will receive a $1500 cash prize. All federal, state and local taxes on prize are the sole responsibility of each Grand Prize Winner. Eight (8) First Place Winners will be awarded and will receive a $250.00 cash prize plus Kretschmar Deli Products for one year in the form of twelve (12) Free product coupons ($5.00 maximum value each.) (TOTAL ARV $5,4800.) Limit one prize per person/family/household.
 
7. GENERAL RESTRICTIONS AND LIMITATION OF LIABILITY:
By participating in this Contest, entrants agree to be bound by these official rules (the “Official Rules”), which can be viewed at www.kretschmardeli.com beginning 6/2/09 or obtained at special displays at your local retailer who sells Kretschmar Deli products. By participating in the Contest, entrant agrees to be bound by these official rules and to assign all rights in and to the entry, including all copyrights, to Sponsor. Potential winners will be required to submit an affidavit to Sponsor certifying that he/she holds all rights to the recipe submitted, that the submission has not been previously published, has not won a previous prize or award and that he/she has complied with the Official Rules of the Contest. Potential winners will also be required to complete an Affidavit of Eligibility, Release of Liability, and where legally permissible, a Publicity Release within seven (7) days of initial attempted delivery of such documents. Noncompliance within this time period or return of any prize/prize notification as undeliverable will result in disqualification and an alternate winner will be selected. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any entry that does not comply with these Official Rules. ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. Sponsor reserves the right to modify, cancel or suspend the online portion of this Contest should a virus, bug, or other cause(s) beyond the control of the Sponsor corrupt the administration, security or proper operation of the Contest. In the event of termination, a notice will be posted online and the Finalists and/or potential Grand Prize Winner will be selected from among all eligible entries received as of the date of termination of the Contest. Sponsor is not responsible for any incomplete, illegible, lost, late, postage due, mutilated, damaged, or misdirected entries or for any technical problems, malfunctions of any telephone lines, computer systems, servers, providers, hardware/software, lost or unavailable network connections or failed, incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmission or any combination thereof. All entries become the sole property of Sponsor and none will be acknowledged or returned. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute prize or any portion thereof of equal or greater value. By accepting a prize, each winner agrees to hold Sponsor Entities harmless against any and all claims and liability arising out of use of prize or participation in this Contest. Winner assumes all liability for any injury or damage caused, or claimed to be caused, by participation in this Contest or use or redemption of any prize. Acceptance of a prize constitutes permission for the Sponsor and its agencies to use winner's name and/or likeness and the winning recipe for purposes of advertising and trade in promotional materials, in any way Sponsor sees fit, without further compensation, unless prohibited by law. Sponsor is not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing, offering, or announcement of the prize or other errors which may occur during the administration of the Contest.
